It's one of life's unresolved questions: Which is better, Aldi or Lidl?
Well, in an attempt to find out, social media user Emily Cousins decided to put this question to Twitter, and suddenly an all-out Gif war broke out between the mighty budget supermarkets.
And it's safe to say that nobody, not least Emily, saw it coming...
It all began when Emily innocently tweeted: "Which is better @AldiUK or @LidlUK ? #questiontime"

Lidl weren't going to take this lying down, and hit back with a Gif of Perry from Scrubs.
They added the caption: "Sorry to break it to you..."

Next up were Aldi again, with a fairly random Gif of rapper Jay-Z to try and prove their point, along with the tweet: "We (respectfully) disagree..."

When Lidl suggested a dance off, all hell broke loose between the supermarket chains...

And then, just when you thought it couldn't get any stranger, Waitrose stepped forward to try and have the final word.

But M&S barged in on the banter, and managed to successfully shut it down by sending up Waitrose with their on-point Gif.

But peace was restored at last, when Aldi finally suggested it was time to kiss and make up...
